tentang Nasi Lemak and The A-Team

NOTE: this post was written last week.


so what about them? well if you don't live in malaysia, it would probably be kinda big a deal when you eat nasi lemak.

of the Nasi Lemak

like mentioned in the previous 'teaser' post.. it was my birthday last friday. so on the next day we invited friends over and made nasi lemak and bought cake and chat and laughed. it was a fun day. i am surprised how satisfying it feels when friends come over, even when they are extremely busy and stressed (for some), and have a good time. and even more satisfying to see them liking the food we (as in my wife made them.. i tried to help) served. i think i'm actually growing up

other than nasi lemak (with prawn sambal and the usual condiments) and chicken rendang, there were chips, which i found out little kids really love, a lovely (bought) coffee pecan cake (whats a birthday without the cake right?), various juices and soft drinks. a friend made this awesome jalapeño chilli and cheese fritters, it looks like cekodok but tastes awesome.. if you love cheese that is

i have to say.. my favourite would be the Neil Gaiman book. GH5? love it too but not as much as the book tho. thank you my wife for getting it for me. i have been looking for pre-owned Neil Gaiman's books everywhere but couldn't find it. lol i know.. i'm a bit cheap when it comes to books :P


of The A-Team

on sunday we went shopping for clothes we need for our next trip next month. bought heaps. maybe because we were in such a good mood. but it was pretty good because we did not spend all that much at all. later that day we used the free tickets i got and watched The A-Team.

when i was a little boy i remember, vaguely, watching the tv show. i remember how i would think that Mr.T talks really fast. but what i remember most is my A-Team bed sheet.. with Mr.T's face huge in the center, the van somewhere, the other guys somewhere in the middle too.. and explosions everywhere.

but this movie remake is not something i would go see at the movies if not for the free tix. honestly, i expected it to be like a guy's version of Charlie's Angels remake. i thought well, lets go watch it and have fun since it was free. so we did just that.

it turned out, that movie was extremely fun to watch. no.. not 'fun' like how lots of people say GI.Joe remake would be (which was a waste of my time to me). but genuine, proper great action movie with excellent sense of humour. and to have gone there expecting to see this mediocre, perhaps a bit cheap, quality movie, made the experience just so much better. i love unexpected, awesome surprises if i meet the director i'd apologize to him.

megatron sez happy birthday!!!

birthdays aren't really something we look forward to when we're way past 21 i think. or at least that's how i view it. it's cool to feel hey im a year older now.. but being 27, birthdays start to look kinda childish. and sometimes.. i think birthday isnt that much fun anymore because it's starting to make me feel old



The Birthday

but yesterday's celebration was different. everyone came and we had lunch and a very elaborate dessert (because almost everyone brought dessert) which was awesome. and we all had fun (i hope) and talked and laughed (without any alcohol involved because we dont drink at all.. who needs alcohol when u have a good sense of humor?) and when it was time for presents, im surprised to get 3 presents.

okay flashback.. earlier that morning, a thought crossed my mind. if the birthday present is a riddle, the right answer for my birthday present this year would be movie tickets to watch Transformers 2. because i still havent seen it yet.. and i really wanna go watch it at the movies. end flashback

there were 3 presents for me. one medium sized box which obviously a box of chocolates.. a big white box the size of a microwave and a white envelope with a Gawler Cinema logo on it.

The Presents



the medium box is a box of chocs from pak liem & family. (4) owh.. the big Toblerone is from babu & renu. i got it few days ago on my actual birthday.

the huge box is from my wife ^_^. i was expecting the box to actually hold another smaller (perhaps really small) box.. but i was wrong. there were 2 smaller boxes in it. one the size of a big shoebox, and the other is a small soap sized box. i opened the smaller box but it was not a soap.. it's a DKNY MEN perfume (2). the other box was Megatron! no the box didnt transform into a bigass ugly robot (would be pretty neat if it did :D) but it's the leader class Megatron (1) from the transformers animated series on CN. it is awesome!!! best present ever

and the final present is that envelope. it's from irida,rebecca and rachel. i was really excited to open that envelope. could it be movie tickets for transformers? well it is better.. a $50 gift certificate for Gawler Cinema (3). so i can watch heaps of movies.

but Megatron is still my favourite birthday present.. maybe best present ever!!! this is one of the reasons i love my wife so much. she really knows what im really into

i really had fun yesterday. thanks everyone for coming.. and all that talk about birthdays making me feel old.. i was so wrong bout that huh?

tentang Kusut

aku sorang animator yang buat masa ni tinggal kat Roseworthy, South Australia, sambil temankan isteri aku sambung belajar.

kat m'sia dulu mase terer sikit2 gune Maya.. aku start keje as freelancer designer.. pastu keje jadik animator utk satu projek 3D animated film malaysia dekat setahun. sebagai persediaan nak pindah australia.. aku try freelance balik as animator untuk satu malaysian VFX film lak.

sekarang kat kampung yg bernama roseworthy ni, yg broadband internet tu sangat mahal n rumit kalau nak apply, aku enrol kelas belajar 3ds max lak. sekarang dah reti gune max ngan maya.. aku abiskan masa hari2 aku utk improvekan demoreel n berjinak2 dgn blogging.

maybe nanti2 dah ade pc baru ngan spec power.. aku nak belajar zbrush atau mudbox lak
