another video!! yeah i am going through a lazy phase right now. so ima post movie stuff and less things to type. :P
neway.. i am super excited to see this teaser. i miss those toys so much. and to see new videos of them and their hilarious antics is just refreshing and makes me wanna read more about Toy Story 3
watch teaser video -
Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz (Tim Allen) are back in their third installment of their awesome, fun and exciting movie, Toy Story. i'm not sure of the storyline because Disney actually planned to make this movie without the involvement of Pixar back in 2004, but that project didnt go too well. and now Pixar is back on the team and they came up with a new storyline. that's what i get from wiki though. its kinda incomplete.. just a short version of the whole story
i bet this story is gonna be cool just like the first and second movie. Toy Story is actually one of the movies that really sparked my interest in 3D. it was released in 1995 and i was still in high school back then and 3D was something that sounded really high tech back then. even now when you watch it again.. the rendering was actually extremely well done considering the technology was relatively new and computers are really prehistoric still. yeah.. it was the year windows95 was released. and i think 1GB hard disk drive is considered huge amount of disk space.

Astroboy (2009) trailer
i saw the poster at AVCON last weekend and i realize i have forgotten all about this movie. turns out.. the movie is coming out this October. but i'm not much of a fan of Astroboy.. and i'm always sceptical of anime movies not made by a Japanese studio, not that Japanese studios always make good films.. remember Death Note?. Initial D was an epic fail too.
but this one is not a live action.. its in full 3D and it kinda looks alright. if anyone seen TMNT (2007).. the same studio is working on Astroboy. so.. like TMNT, i hope Astroboy will be entertaining and cool without needing an epic level CGI.
watch the trailer-
the movie is about a kid robot made by a brilliant scientist who is grieving from the loss of his own child.. but when the robot isn't enough to fulfill the scientist's expectations, astroboy goes through this adventure for self-discovery and returns as a super hero robot kid thingy.
oh it kinda sounds like Pinocchio who instead of getting to be a real boy, he got this super cool superpowers and cannons and.. he can fly! and off he goes to battle aliens and bad guys. err.. LOLz?
neway.. check out the movie website here

Sea World and Movie World Gold Coast ban packed food
@_@
why oh why did they decide to go ahead with this ban. the two world famous theme parks, Sea World and Movie World, in Gold Coast, Australia will not allow people to bring their own food to the theme park. they claim that the ban is an 'industry standard' and is practiced in most other well known theme parks around the world.
well whatever reason they wanna say to make that decision might be, average families will not be happy with it. all this does look like the management of the theme park is trying to make more money.. and even if they managed to make money selling food, ticket sales and maybe souvenir sales will go down because people dont wanna spend too much after buying their tickets.
but i may be wrong.. and this whole packed food ban will make more money for the theme parks and the everyone who goes there will have a happier and more exciting time spending more money. yay
neway.. i heard this on the news yesterday but i couldn't find the official announcement or anything on the seaworld website.. assuming that seaworld.myfun is the official website. google have failed me this time. but here's an article of it for you guys who love to read more.
i admit i have been a bit lazy these few days. sorry :D

tentang Prince of Persia : The Sands of Time (2010)
they're making a movie out of yet another game. i have to say i dont expect Prince of Persia will be a good movie but some people did say the movie makers are really serious with this movie and they have 'blockbuster worthy' budget and crew working on it. and some compared it to Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. well.. it is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
the story will be different from the game but since the creator of the game is part of the movie team.. i guess it kinda makes it ok. or is it? neway.. it will be different.
jake gyllenhaal (Donnie Darko, Brokeback Mountain) looks different eh? i almost didnt recognize him when i first saw the poster.
now having read the cast and crew list on IMDB, i think this movie could probably be awesome. would be pretty cool if they made those wall leap moves like in the game.

tentang The Half Blood Prince
i went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince last weekend and i have to say.. i enjoyed it. a lot of people who have seen and have read the book before thought that Harry Potter 6 sucked. well.. i think ALL movies that is an adaptation from a novel would be labeled horibble, disappointing, and all words imaginable along those lines.
let me say this.. when watching any movie which is an adaptation from a novel, be prepared for changes because it WILL be different from the original version. expect and treat the movie version as a different version than the novel original version instead to avoid being disappointed after the movie.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is definately different from the novel. the basic storyline is still the same but they cut out a lot of history, quidditch and details from the book. well the past directors did the same in previous Harry Potter installments but this one is more then they should. a lot of stuff isn't properly explained that if you havent read the book.. some might be wondering stuff like 'what happened to him before the movie?' and 'what is that other thing got to do with all this?'. yes i fear things are incomprehensible to some but if you dont pay attention to those details, the movie is still pretty complete and fun to watch
the looks of the movie have changed a lot. gone the fun, childish world in the earlier Harry Potter movies and as we get to the fifth, everything kinda get this darker and darker mood. and in HP6, it literally have this dark dark tone. everthing is set in this pale, dark colour which sets the right mood for the ending of HP6. i love the camera works in this movie and how they played with shadows and reflections.
they even changed the quidditch match camera works and is now cooler and more involving.they managed to better conceal the cgi and blend the elements very well (compared to the other HP movies) but quidditch was a little too brief that maybe they should've put more from the book in the movie.
HP6 definately was missing all these important scenes from the book. but just maybe, they did shoot more from the book and maybe will include it in the DVD or some sort in an extended version. i sure hope this is the case.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is, ultimately, an introduction for the last book.. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which will be a 2 part movie. cant wait for that.. and i found this on the net. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows teaser poster.

Masterchef Australia - and the winner is..
Julie!
the grand finale was on last night and based on what i read today, it was the most watched show in australian history.
some people were upset with the result and speculated it was rigged from the start. but i think Poh did some pretty bad decisions last nite. some of the dishes she decided to make were not a good enough choice and for the pressure challenge she decided not to follow the recipe. so yeah.. maybe julie deserved to win last nite.
Julie wins AUD$100,000; a cookbook deal and the masterchef australia title. she said she plans to open a restaurant and i bet a lot of people would love to go there.
and Poh didnt go home empty handed. although she didnt win, the guest judge last nite, Curtis Stone (international celebrity chef), invited Poh to come to LA when he said -
oh that kinda sounds as fun as Julie's prizes :P
anyway.. Poh made hainan chicken rice for the invention challenge last nite that looked so good. i know one place here in adelaide that serves hainan chicken rice. its a small restaurant called Knoodle Junction.. its across the road from Target Rundle Mall, a little furthur toward north terrace. and it's halal, but i havent been there for a while

Julie Goodwin, 38, beat Adelaide’s Poh Ling Yeow in a three-round challenge in front of their former top 20 MasterChef Australia opponents and judges Gary Mehigan, Matt Preston and George Calombaris last night.

coming event - AVCON Adelaide 2009
i've seen their ad on tv but never really paid attention to it (have to admit.. it is kinda lame) until just now. and just realized that AVCON (anime and videogames convention) 2009 is actually quite interesting. last year i only know about it till after the convention when i saw their poster and remember thinking 'owh.. so thats what those cosplayers in rundle mall were all about'
but this year i plan to check it out. tickets are $35 for weekend pass (if u buy before 24/7) or $25 for a day ticket. could be cool to snap some pics of awesome cosplayers (and perhaps a few fail ones).. check out the games tourney (looking forward for Tekken 5) and attend some possibly interesting stuff about video games. well interesting for me lah (i know some would go pfft geek stuff)
they have art competetions as well but since that i could not easily find the full rules and guides and stuff.. i'll just go and see it this year. get the idea of what their art comp is all about. maybe next year for me :P
anyway check out the AVCON website and learn more.

Masterchef Australia - The Malaysian Cooking Challenge
something interesting happened on Masterchef today.. interesting to malaysians that is.
firstly, to those unfamilliar to what Masterchef Australia is, let me shed some light on this. it is a reality tv cooking competetion to find the best amateur cook in australia. like idol.. but u cook. based on the UK's Masterchef on BBC, and is australia's first season this year. currently.. the series is in the final week, 4 contestant remains and elimination every day till the grand final on this sunday (july 19th)
so this contestant Poh got an advantage to set the theme for the elimination challenge today.. and she chose a Malaysian theme (u should've seen the smile on her face when she chose that). i'm not sure of her background but i remember earlier in the series she mentioned that her family (or someone) is from malaysia.
well.. asian theme would've been tricky enough, but malaysian theme is gonna be hard. i dont know if im right but i dont think malaysian cooking is famous here in australia. i might be wrong though
the judges did say that they must make a malay dish. i'm sorry i dont think that's accurate. malaysian cooking is actually more than that. many (not all) chinese or indian or malay (malaysian/singaporean/indonesian) cooking could pass as a malaysian cooking because malay, chinese and indian are three of the many races that is Malaysian. how i know all this..? i'm Malaysian and i am a Malay.
it was pretty fun watching some contestants trying to guess how malaysian cooking should taste and look like.. but i pity them as well. they worked so hard to get to the final week and Poh chose a very hard theme for them. i must say.. she played her cards really well
(images from masterchef.com.au)
in the end Poh won the challenge and got another advantage for tomorrow's elimination challenge. the dishes she made that won her the challenge were :
- Petai with Sambal and Fish Custard (nasik putih + sambal petai + custard ikan(?))
- Glutenous Rice Dumpling with Coconut Pandan Leaf Stuffing
if Poh wins Masterchef and became the first Australian Masterchef it would be pretty cool. remember Guy Sebastian? first Australian Idol. he was born in Klang. hmm.. people with malaysian roots do pretty well on aussie tv huh?
and owh.. if u like to cook u should check out Poh's recipes. some of the dishes are actually common malaysian dish like roti jala and murtabak. but she gave a fresh new definition and kinda gave it an aussie style to it.. and i think that's brilliant. dont know how it would taste tho.. i've only seen it on tv :P

DWIV - the top 10
whatever happened to my Dominance War IV entry? well i didnt make it to the top 75 :P. yeah i expected that to happen. even when i compare my Metallisk with entries from my own forum it is clear im not at that level yet. so yeah i still have heaps to learn.
the Top 10 Champions for both 3D art and 2D art look awesome. oh i really need to train harder to be at the same level as those top 3. train extremely hard T____T
owh grats to Ced66 for making 3dtotal proud
and... grats to deadred from CGHub for making malaysia proud. her works can be viewed on her blog. if i am an editor of a cg art magazine in malaysia i would make a big deal about it and maybe interview her. but im not :P

blog layout adjustments
i had to make some adjustments to the blog's layout today because advertlets has gone gila!
what's been happening since abt a couple of days ago is that when i load up my blog.. it loads half way because ads are unable to load. tried to load friends' blog (who have advertlets) and same problem happens. same as bloggerunited.com which only loads the navigation and banner. well if i wait for 10-15 mins the page will eventually load but without the advertlet ads. (all approximation made while im pissed off.. subject to a little exaggeration)
i am not sure if i am the only person having this problem (because i dont live in asia) or their server actually did stuff up about a couple of days ago. there is no news on the net.. no notes on twitter abt any technical problems.. advertlets.com, u're a big name so please don't act like u're still some n00b company facing technical problems and hope people dont notice it.
so now i had to move the ads to the bottom of my blog so that other stuff that IS working properly will load.
pfftt!
EDIT:- abt 5 mins after this post is made the ads are fine again and advertlets.com is back online. whoa they work fast to fix that didnt they :P. owh now i have to move the ads back >_>
MORE EDIT:- and now.. advertlets.com and their ads are gone again!!! and i just moved the ads back >_<

tentang Chrome OS
computers need to get better. People want to get to their email instantly, without wasting time waiting for their computers to boot and browsers to start up. They want their computers to always run as fast as when they first bought them.
some might have heard that Google is developing a new OS. it will be based on their Chrome browser, and act like Chrome, lightweight and fast, hence the name Google Chrome OS. the best thing about it, to me, is that it is an open-source OS. sweet!!
google have this cool idea to have a computer that will always run as fast as a newly formatted pc. and not having to update or to worry about virus and stuff. an impressive idea but i think they will have A LOT of work to do.. but i do hope they will pull it off. no updates = no extra downloads :D
read the whole entry at the official google blog :D

tentang Weekend yang awesome
i have to say.. i havent spend weekends like i did this weekend for a while. cant remember when was the last time i went to watch movies two days in a row. that would probably be when i was still in MMU i guess.
thanks to the gift certificate from the three girls, i get to go watch movies and not worry too much about spending cash :P.
so on saturday my wife, me and one of the girls, iid, went to watch The Proposal. a fun, hilarious movie like most other Sandra Bullock movies. i would recommend it as a date movie. pretty good.. not something i'd wanna watch again at the movies but dont mind watching it again on tv or dvd
today (sunday) again my wife, me but this time with bec, went out for a movie.. another movie that is.. and spend the day to watch transformers 2. i have been waiting to watch this one eversince it came out. and i have to say.. i love it. a lot of people said it sucked.. but i think those people just need to learn to have fun again.
transformers 2 is slower than the first movie, by slower i do not mean it is a slow movie. when it gets to the action part.. it is a lot more intense. like angels&demons kind of intense. the less awesome thing about this movie is the super slo-mo part.. not exactly 300 but close enough.
owh i hope there will be one last installment of this title. directed by michael bay again of course

tentang NUFC's next owner a Malaysian?
it was a surprise for me when i read utusan.com.my today about this. and i remember thinking well.. maybe it's just a biased malaysian media reporting a rumour as fact. but after reading of the news from thesun.co.uk i realized i was wrong.
im not a big football (some might call it soccer) fan.. but i do occasionally watch big matches on tv. so do i care much about some malaysian billionaire buying NUFC? not so much really. but i do like to read stuff like this.
malaysians right now might be feeling proud hearing the news (even a little, maybe?) but i have to say that i have read quite a number of nasty comments. comments on the net would generally say.. 'hey rich guy, u will lose all of your money if you buy this club.'
hmm.. personally for me, if i were that rich, i'd go for it too. buying a football club is not like betting on a football club. buy it.. own it.. control it. NUFC already have legions of loyal supporters whoever the owner would be. unless you are a famous well hated person in the world lah.
so if the news of our Ananda Krishnan is in fact will be the next owner of The Toon, to him i bid good luck. it could be a brilliant plan and the timing couldnt be any better.

malaysians right now might be feeling proud hearing the news (even a little, maybe?) but i have to say that i have read quite a number of nasty comments. comments on the net would generally say.. 'hey rich guy, u will lose all of your money if you buy this club.'
hmm.. personally for me, if i were that rich, i'd go for it too. buying a football club is not like betting on a football club. buy it.. own it.. control it. NUFC already have legions of loyal supporters whoever the owner would be. unless you are a famous well hated person in the world lah.
so if the news of our Ananda Krishnan is in fact will be the next owner of The Toon, to him i bid good luck. it could be a brilliant plan and the timing couldnt be any better.

next online game craze? JamLegend
a friend put this link on his fesbuk and i thought.. sounds fun. so i tried it and i liked it instantly. the only issue im concerned of is that for every level (song) im playing, i'll have to wait it to load and that equals to data downloads. more song = more data downloads = sad kusut
wait.. what is this game im talking about?
JamLegend is like guitar hero without the need of any expensive setups and special equipments. your keyboard is your guitar (hold it like you hold a guitar if u want to) as long as u have a computer with internet connection just go to http://www.jamlegend.com/ and have fun. u can even play it if u cant be bothered to register an account.
it is still in it's beta stage so there might be bugs. but the songs listed are pretty awesome so far. Canon Rock by Jerry C; the rising fighting spirit (Naruto OST); Gives You Hell by All American Rejects; and they even have Super Mario Bros Theme (got 100% on my first try.. beginner difficulty :P)
i say this online game is brilliant. even a music n00b like me can enjoy the game. i could spend all day playing this. and in fact.. ima go play a few more songs :P
